I have pretty dark arm hair and it's pretty thick too. What would be the best way to get rid of it? Should I wax it, or should I buy an epilator? I would like to know which is more painful, which lasts longer, and which helps the hair grow back slower and thinner/lighter?

Do the wax. Epilating is excruciating. I do my arms every four weeks. My crotch lasts longer. Waxing hurts a bit but nothing like pulling it out which is what epilating is. They both act the same way (pulling out the hair by the roots) and work for the same period of time. Waxing is cleaner and less painful overall.

Despite all the myths no type of hair removal has the effect of making the hair grow back either thicker, thinnner, lighter or darker.

waxing and epilating do the same thing, the only drawback is they can leave your skin rougher and bumpy. Try trimming your arm hair with a personal groomer. My friend has the same problem, she is very picky always has her pedicures done etc... she just shaves them every few days.....works the best for her. I trim mine fyi.

wax, it is less painfull, lasts about 3-6 weeks (time in between stretches out over time, I did mine for the first time 5 weeks ago, and it still is gone!

An epilator rips out the hair.....slowly..... very painfull
