you shouldn't worry about what other people think. you know why you do what you do and you should be proud. wanting to help people is a great thing and there aren't many that do it. i think it is perfectly normal for males to want to go into nursing. in the end you won't care what everyone else thinks, all you will think about is how rewarding it feels to help.

Well, to be quite honest, I used to stereotype men when I found out that they were nurses or studying to be one. I would question their sexuality. I think this had something to do with society and the things I had heard. I would just more less give the person a once over and try to decide if they were or not.

It is the same thing for male hairdressers. People are going to wonder at first, but if your aren't, you have nothing to worry about.

It is not just OK, but I am thankful that people such as yourself are willing to help others by becoming practical nurses. When and if I need a practical nurse, I am not wanting to hit on you but look to you for a medical need.

I'm studying to be an RN. Stick with it. There's a big demand for nurses, especially male nurses. You'll never have to worry about being unemployed, and the salaries are pretty good.

I KNOW SO MANY MALE NURSES THAT ARE AWESOME! SOME EVEN BETTER THEN THE FEMALE NURSES. ITS SO COMMON TODAY TO SEE MALE NURSES. ITS A WONDERFUL TRADE. ALOT OF TIMES PEOPLE DO THINK AT FIRST THAT MOST OF THEM ARE GAY, I DONT KNOW WHY....... HOWEVER I DO WORK IN A HOSPITAL AS A PHLEBOTOMIST AND DO KNOW A FEW GAY MALE NURSES, BUT THERE WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH.. BUT THERE ARE MANY STRAIGHT MALE NURSES TOO. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

It is okay. Guy nurses tend to be advanced and put in charge of things more quickly, as well as better paid, so it is really a very strategic career choice. Also, you're around all these hot nurse chicks who make their own money. I'd say you're not gay, your a master opportunist!

its just a profession in the medical field, if you think about it logically. Nothing that nurses do is particularly womanly or feminine, its just regular medical stuff..Men just traditionally havent been nurses, so when we think of it, a woman comes to mind. SImple minded people might struggle with men being nurses in our generation, but in another 20 years or so, it will be so common that the stigma will go away.
