You didn't say how old you are, but when I first started I never had a problem except a heavy flow. After a few years, I began to suffer severe cramps, etc. Then I began to have the clotting during my heavy days. My best friend had heavy clotting, too.
I was not sexually active at that time, but after I was married I started what seemed to be a normal cycle. Instead of ending, it got heavier and I passed many large clots. It was discovered that I was having a miscarriage.
So, to answer your question, yes, some women pass blood clots. Is it always from your menses? No, not necessarily.
If you are concerned it would be best to check with your doctor.

Don't worry, it's totally normal. It's just your body's way of getting rid of all the yucky stuff accumulated during the month. Everyone gets the same thing. :)

No this is perfectly normal. This may sound gross as well, but your uturus lining is made up of blood and tissue. This is the tissue falling.

it is normal. You have a heavy period. Next time you see the Dr. mention it, but there is really nothing they can do about it.

I wouldn't worry. Just a good bit of advice is start having lots of sex. That is a good way to workout the vaginal area and make everything work good. Plus its fun!
