A brand is one thing. Hard or soft pack is a preference, not a brand. A brand would be like Kool or Camel. Then you can ask, hard or soft, short or longs, etc. - those are preferences.
We prefer hard pack, but if they only have soft and it's cheapest, we buy soft. Same thing with brand: whatever brand is on sale and cheapest because they're all going to kill us anyway. :)
