I think Harper is doing not too bad a job at the present time. He is from the west which acts to solidify the country and has now moved to give Quebec what they have wanted to a point. He is re-building the military because of our overseas needs relative to our NATO commitments, has reduced taxes,is implementing a cohesive society in Canada and finally, presents a break from the liberals for a change. He believes in total morality and the distinction between church and state. He does not favor any one province over another and is a man who enjoys a fairly decent reputation thus far.

Harper would probably be worse than Mulroney, another conservative who preceded him, and sold us out on NAFTA, etc. He seems to cater to the same interests that inflicted Bush on you guys...for example, when he was in opposition he supported Bush's agenda of invading Iraq. Regarding Middle East, he follows the wishes of our Zionists and rubber stamps all the atrocities of Israel. He is a corporate man with the neocon ideology of privatization and maintaining plutocracy. His policies on the environment are disastrous, too. The problem is that our political leadership virtually lacks people of vision and integrity.

we finally get someone with honesty and integrity and because he is not liberal, he gets slammed. Harper is a breath of fresh air. He does what he says he is going to do and reacts decisively to everything, right or wrong. We finally have a leader to be proud of. He makes decisions based on what is right, or good for the country rather than pander to interest groups or polls. Good on him!
