An idling car is wasting gas
If it's below -10 I will let my car warn up for a few minutes maybe two. The important thing to remember is not to punch it just drive nice till it's warm on the temp Gage.

I lived in Anchorage for 3 years, and we even had about 4 weeks of -30F weather at one point. Like others have said, a minute or two for the oil to start circulating. I drove a 91 prizm with over 100k on it like this, and it was fine until someone decided to do some front end work for me at an intersection. If you live somewhere extremely cold, you can get a block heater and leave it plugged in.

Let it warm up . This will allow the fluids in the transmission , power steering and engine block to Begin to circulate and protect and lubricate the various mechanical parts of the car.

Two minutes is fine. Just enough time to let the oil heat up a bit so it does it's job.

You should warm it up 10-15 minutes, or something could break. Happens all the time up here in Alaska.

always warm up your car. Have you tried working out with out stretching? and don't worry about time , look at your temperature gauge and when it reaches normal driving temp, it is safe to drive. if not, you'll end up with a lemon.

its much better to let the engine warm up because its comprised of many different metals assembled to close tollerences, that expand and contract at different rates and dimensions. so the longer you let it warm up before applying load the better

I just asked my mechanic and he said yes. Not just to warm up the oil, but more importantly, to warm up the transmission fluid.
