i took it for a while...it was fine, but i stopped because its so freaking expensive compared to other pills and i noticed no differentce to make the cost justified.

im on nuva ring now, its actually more effective than the pill, plus its so easy. i always used to forget to take my pill.

ps one girl above is talking about Yaz, which is different than Yasmin, fyi.

I took it from June 2003 - September(ish) 2004. In that time, I gained about 10 lbs, was VERY emotional and mean to my then-boyfriend ... basically really irritable. Then again you could blame that on environmental factors. But I would say the pill really made me mood-swingy. But as any pill does, it relieved my cramps and my heavy time of the month.

Oh! I also developed a large ... infection/zit on my forehead. Some say it was a bug bite, but I still have the scar from it - and I have heard other people break out in big acne type stuff from Yasmin. This was a month or so after I started taking it.

I was completely irrational, moody, and psycho the first month or two when I was on it. Then I mellowed out. If you have seasonal depression go on prozac or something. Symptoms are supposed to go away after about three months. Your boobs will get bigger and you'll gain weight b/c you hungry all of the time and your metabolism will increase so you'll burn more, so I suggest you work out a little bit during the week. The plus side to it is that you only get your period for about three days! yay. Yaz is the birth control that has the highest amount of hormoes so if it's too much for you to handle then go on a different brand. Talk to you doctor to find out which is the best one for you.

I have been on it for almost 2 years, and it is a good one. I didn't gain any weight at all, nor have I had any breakouts.
