it is because the girl is probably scared that the guy says she eats alot or like a pig.

It's the girsl fault, sorta. You see, the girl gets insecure that the guy is going to think she's a pig or she'll get something stuck in her teeth or something else embarrassing and also it's harder to talk with food in your mouth. So the girl feels weird about it. Really it does'n't have much to do with the guy except that he's there but oh well. I used to do it when I had braces and I still find it weird sometimes. Plus sometimes the excitment and adreniline of beign with a really cool guy can take a girl's appetite away.

Cause they are afraid to look like pigs plus there is much pressure for girls to be skinny these days

honestly, because we're afraid of getting food on our faces in front of you! or getting food on our clothes, and just generally feeling kind of shy at first. but after a while we start feeling more comfortable, and will start to eat like a normal person. another fear that I have a problem with, is I'm aftaid of getting something stuck in my teeth and not knowing it, and them smiling, and someone going, hey you've got something in your teeth! so it's no ones fault that girls are kind of afraid to eat in front of guys, most of us just are until we get to know you better!

They want to impress them. It makes them seem like they keep down their weight. Most girls do eat in front of guys, though. Who have you been eating with??

I wouldn't say afraid, it's more they or we are embarrassed that maybe we chew funny or something might come out of the mouth while eating. I know cause I'm was like that.

I used to. I like to eat alot and I thought that if I ate in front of a guy he would think I was fat.

Girls (including myself) don't like eating infront of guys mainly because they're self-conscience about how they look. They feel that if they do eat (like with myself; how i LOVE eating) they will make a fool out of themselves and make it look like they eat a lot, and i mean A LOT.

Usually if its those people who are a little shy. When I first stared dating it took me forever to eat infront of the opposite sex. One Thanksgiving we were invited to his brother's house for dinner and i didn't eat a thing. I'm sure they thought i was a weirdo and believe me i was so hungry that when i got home i nearly ate myself sick
