do the electrons go from the anode to the cathode?
how do you figure out the voltage of the redox reaction that goes on?

Oxidation describes the loss of an electron by a molecule, atom or ion
Reduction describes the gain of an electron by a molecule, atom or ion

A loss of electron is so an oxidation, reduction the inverse /

The electrons which are negative go from the negative electrode cathode to the positive anode.
So at the cathode you have an oxidation, at the anode a reduction

Reduction at the positive electrode , reduction at the negative
