i am not a gay man--not even a gay female--but i think i can answer the question--maybe....
here goes--when one is born into a male body the mind and brain work together to find the opposite sex attractive. i belive the same with a female except the female mind is some how programmed to be attracted to the male. there are things in this world few people understand and one of them is how one sex can be attracted to the same sex--it is something different in the mind. something that is there in that mind that is NOT there in the majority--when does it come in? at birth? at another time? i have asked my gay male friends a lot of questions to find out exactly when they knew they were gay and most can tell me--they all have had one thing in common--before they found themselves attracted to other males--they had been raped by a man. what happens during rape?? i know what happens to me--i have been raped by both men and women-(-which i realize sounds strange--but it is none the less a true thing. ) and i know i am strange when it comes to sex and who iam attracted to--i know that rape can do many wierd things to the victims--it can even change the workings of ones mind. one never knows when and if one will also become a victim--the brain and mind are strange and complicated much like i have found that LIFE itself is.
i would like to add that i find the female form beautiful as well as the male form--but i find men more of a turn-on...if u knew my life you imagine that no man would ever turn me on again...but it means there is still LIFE in there yet....
