There was so much fuss over them, I just wanted to know what you guys thought was better. Playstation 3 or Wii?

It depends on what you are looking for. If you only want the most powerful system, get the PS3... there is not a more powerful system on the market.
On the other hand, most people just want to have fun. I would then say save your money and get a Wii. Then, you have more money for more games.
Plus, form having played the Wii, it has to be the most fun I have had on a video game system for a very long time.
The Wii has games for everyone as well, fro kids, to more adult-oriented games... it just depends on what you like.
But, if you like play a game with friends, then there is no question at all... get a Wii. It is a lot of fun in a group, even if one person is playing... like video games used to be a long time ago.
In short, unless you are just looking for bragging rights, or have money to burn, the Wii is better.

well the ps3 is 600 dollars and the wii is 250, but the ps3 has over double of the intel processors of a standard computer so that means it runs really fast-- entertainment weekly rates the wii over the ps3 because the ps3 doesnt play ps2 games and the wii is a motion device so it keeps your kids active
i say ps3 because the nintendo discs are so small and easy to lose and you can go online and play others with teh ps3

My son says Wii because PS3 doesn't play all the PS2 games, including the Final Fantasy series. I also read an article the other day that said Wii was rated better by players who had played games on both consoles.

Tough....the Wii has that interaction of movement but the PS3 has those awesome games........so hard. Since I'm a Sony person, I have to go with the PS3....yup

My bf is a video game collector so I kind of know about this ... wii is much better and ps3 was a waste of money people bought it and tried selling it on eBay cause it was that bad

Nintendo has always been more kid friendly and the PS3 caters more to adults. I'll get both eventually.
