I'm a 32 yr old father of 2 boys (six and one). Looking at buying our first gaming console and debating on which one to buy. My buddies love to play NCAA Football on PS2, but I'm not interested in buying an outdated system. I also want it to be kid-friendly. The Wii looks like an interesting system, but this is just as much for me as my kids. I don't know if the Wii is what I'm looking for. I've seriously looked at the Xbox 360, but I'm not sure if my kids will get a lot out of it. The PS3 would be nice, but not interested in dropping that kind of money. If it was by far the best system I might think about it, but they all seem so closely matched, price is important. Thanks.

The Xbox 360 should be your first choice. With it's more than 4,500 games available to the entire Xbox family, there has to be many games that you--and your kids will enjoy.

With the Xbox 360's graphics and advanced processers, it delivers 1080p gaming with amazing artificial intelligence. People still play the original Xbox after almost 6 years. So if not the newest addition to the Xbox family, what then?

Good luck and I hope this helps.

given the age of your children, the ease of programming (inviting more developers and software companies to easily create good games) and the low cost, the wii is a no brainer.

i've never played so many video games while standing up and moving around, rather than sitting on my @$$!

the controllers are excellent, (and i was skeptical) and paying $700 for a system, extra controller and a couple games is completely absurd.

unless you absolutely need a blu-ray player (which i've heard is unreliable anyway) the wii will give you and your kids a great system for much less money, innovative controllers, and a much smaller, more convenient shell (it's less than 1/2 the size of the 360!)

wii!

Get the PS3!

It is child friendly, and adult friendly! You will only need to buy one game, like warhawk, and plus it has internet, music, harddrive compatibility, Wii is a nono, but teven though the 360 is reallly great the controls are hard to get used to.

But it's your choice really.

if it's for a six and a one-year old boy, damn, why would you give them such? they still don't know how to maually operate it on their won. they might crash it when you're not looking. just give them something interesting besides video game consoles. but if that's what you want, i recommend Wii. it's cheaper than the others, and it's fun. some games are kid-friendly. no violence. and it is interactive. especially the boxing game. haha.
