Well, do you actually play an instrument well or not? If you don't just get cut. If you DO play an instrument well enough to be marching band material I'd just ride it out. It can be fun, you know, and band geeks are popular in ceratin circles in high school.

you don't, cuz marching band rocks and is really a great experience. I mean, seriously, where else can you live off nachos and get away with all sorts of stupid pranks? Give it a shot.

Check out the movie "Drumline". You might feel different. At least give it your best and then ask your counselor for other alternatives.

tell her you want to explore other interests and band is just not one of them. or... be really bad at it and they wont let you be in it..
