The song says,

"Ain't (meaning there isn't) no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from you."

In other words, I would climb the highest mountain, I would travel through the lowest valley, I would cross the widest river, to get to you.

Please note that the grammar in the song is very bad. "Ain't" is an improper word for "there is not." And saying "ain't no" is a double negative, which is also improper grammar. Many song lyrics use slang which is in common use because people don't always speak grammatically.

I think what you are asking is: why are there two negatives instead of one, the choice that would make the most sense.

If so, my answer is: the song is a song, and in art or songs or poetry, some artistic "mistakes" are allowed. There are rules, but for the sake of the art piece, a rule--like the "two double negatives make a positive" rule--can be broken. I have read poetry that used no capital letters at all, and there is abstract art with the nose in the eyes' place and the eyes in the ears' place (although I must say I do not like that kind of art).

I hope this helps...

It means that even the highest mountain could not keep someone back. For example, if I said that there "ain't no mountain high enough" to keep me from reaching my goal, I would face any obstacle to achieve it...even climb the highest mountain. :o) I hope this helps.

In the song:
it means nothing will keep her from being with the person she loves.

In life:
you could take it to mean nothing will keep you from doing what you want to. You will reach your goals no matter how hard they seem!

Ain't = is not ....=is no ...

So.. there "is no" mountain that is high enough ....

.to prevent their love .... probably ...
