Does it hurt? If I need to do it, where do you buy it?

Douching is when you flush out your vagina with water/baking soda/vinegar/soap.

It has been thought (in the past) to be a neccesity, but in reality, douching does more harm than good.

There are supposed to be certain bacterias down there, and flushing them all out is one surefire way to get yourself a yeast infection.

The American Medical Association HIGHLY reccomends that women steer clear of douching.

No, it doesn't hurt, but there's not much use in doing so.

It doesn't ACTUALLY protect againts STD's, can make any odor worse (yeast infection....*shudder* Trust me. YOU DON'T WANT ONE!), DOES NOT protect against pregnancy, and there's no need to clear the blood out of your vagina after your period.

Simply washing the outside with mild soap during your shower should be good enough.
Also, try to avoid long baths if you're actually dirty.

Just think: All the bacteria from the rest of your body, is now up-close and personal with your who-ha.

never never never douch its a cleanser for your vagina i use to douch 1 time a week. but i kept getting a bacterial infection it made my vagina smell bad like raw fish, and i had alot of discharge my dr said it was from douching because douching washes away good bacteria that fights off bad bacteria. and douching can push bad bacteria up to your repeoductive parts. no matter what any one says dont douch unless instructed by a doctor. and you may here if you have a bad odor down there that douching will make it go away but thats not true it only covers the odor for a short while. but it dont make the odor go away. and usually just for future ref if you smell funny or strange you probly have an infection that needs an antibiotic to get rid of not a douch

It's a way to do a little internal dusting and cleaning but totally not neccesary in the young and healthy vagina which has it's own built-in cleaning system. I'd leave them alone unless you feel you have an odor problem and then I'd see a doc.

its a personal choice...

its a way to cleanse your vagina but i find a nice hot DAILY bath does a pretty decent job by itself...some women even bathe more than once a day...

whatever floats your boat...
