I am not trying to be cute or clever. What is the reason that people flock to Jimmy Buffet shows and treat him as if he is some sort of hero? I admire anyone that can make money honestly but it just seems that his whole act is about Gilligans Island for drunks. The music is not quality, is it just about escapism or being goofy? I understand he is a zillionare wow only in America.

I was just on his website to see if he is actually touring and his tickets for his Aspen, Co show are $250 and $600.

It has to be some rich person trying to relive his hippy days.

I had to laugh at your question because my friend always comments about who would listen to Jimmy Buffet.

I have a friend who goes to every buffet concert he can. He has flown up north several times this year, just to go to a concert. I think he has been 6 times this year alone.

I have no idea what he sees in him. He;s like a Buffet groupie.

His music and the whole concert experience are FUN. He makes you forget about the real world for a while and just live life. It is escapism at it's best!

He has a huge following. Fans call themselves Parrot Heads. He offers an escapist attitude. He is a shrewd business person who doesn't blow his money on drugs and toys.

You are right, but when you live in a northern climate, it is escapism. Especially in February when cabin fever is it it's peak.
