Press control alt then the upwards arrow key (first control, then alt, then the arrow but keep them pressed down) then let go all at once and it will change

What happened is the graphics options rotated the screen. Perhaps pressing it again will rotate it further. And there should be a way to disable that function on your keyboard too. Check in your control panel for something like "multi function keyboard" On my monitor I have to right click on a blank spot on the desk top. Then I choose Graphic Options, Rotation, and I make sure the normal is checked. Now if the screen is rotated, it can be a little tricky. Some times I have to move the mouse cursor the exact opposite of where I want it to go.

You have an Nvidia graphics card, and your brother pressed the
Control+ALT and directional arrows. Nvidea cards can rotate the screen in all 4 orientations using this hotkey setup.

Try right clicking desktop>properties>advanced> and flip though the jungle of options to (hopefully) see an option to rotate the screen.
