The first software version of it had a feature that you would roll the trackball to silence a call, but a software bug caused it to silence all calls until you pull the battery. It also froze a lot using various applications. If you already have one, though, you should go to www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade and download the new software version 4.2.0.64. If you are buying a new one make sure that it has the new software version. It has very few bugs compared to the previous one.

The biggest drawback of the Pearl in general is the keypad, but if you are coming from a regular phone or a Blackberry 7100 series, it's a step up.

Input is not using stylus; it would have been much easier to use if it is stylus-capable touchscreen.

It is neither Palm or Windows CE, and departure for it from other Blackberry model is great.

microSD is hard to come by.
