How can you be so sadly oblivious
The Iraq war was a product that was advertised marketed and sold
"We've got hundreds of sites to exploit, looking for the chemical and biological weapons that we know Saddam Hussein had prior to our entrance into Iraq." —George W. Bush, Santa Clara, Calif., May 2, 2003
"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." —George W. Bush, State of the Union Address, Jan. 28, 2003, making a claim that administration officials knew at the time to be false
"I mean, there was a serious international effort to say to Saddam Hussein, you're a threat. And the 9/11 attacks extenuated that threat, as far as I-concerned." --George W. Bush, Philadelphia, Dec. 12, 2005

Bush is not exploiting the Military. Bush is exploiting all of us with this stupid war. Bush already knows he looks like a fool. Therefore, he seems to think that standing his ground on keeping ours troops there & sending more, he will appear strong & determined. This is all he has for his laughable speeches. Accusing us of not being patriotic because we challenge his absolute ignorance and inability is just easy for him. I do not back Bush & I support our troops by praying for their safety & strength for their families. Stop trying to figure out how Bush backers STILL think Saddam was a Mastermind of the 911 attacks, you will never figure that one. Stupid is as Stupid does. Hopefully, we/the US can recover once Bush is finally out of office.

It's that old de-humanizing the "enemy" thing---the less of a human being someone is taken to be, the easier it is to kill him. (such as: Gooks, Japs, slant-eyes, Krauts, *******, etc....)
edit: oh, by the way, the answer to your original question: YES he does.
edit #2-----LeAnne, he didn't say that he couldn't grasp the link between AlQueda and Bin Laden----he asked why some dumba**es still think Saddam Hussein (who the US supported for many years, though we knew he was a tyrant and a murderer) was behind 9/11. Have trouble with your reading glasses tonight?

Come on.........political gain???
Have you forgotten the Nov. 7 results already?
Bush is making difficult decisions and implementing policies that he feels are right - and not pandering to the current political whims of the media or the Hollywood elite.
As far as helping you to understand - if you don't see a link between Bin Laden and al Qaeda - I can't.
And if you truly believe that "Bush Backers" have ever indicated that they think Saddam was the Mastermind of 9/11, you're being duped badly by the web sites and blogs you're frequenting.

Do you remember the Michael Dukakis campaign commercial of himself sitting in a tank to try to look tough on defense? Politicians always want to appear tough, because we want them to be tough, part of their job is to kick ***.
That political shield that you mention doesn't seem to work very well, considering here you are, challenging his agenda and methods.
No one said Saddam was the mastermind. Read the whole articles, not just headlines. Oh heck, go ahead and read some books on the subject if you actually want to know the answer.

he will beautify his place huge time, as he desperately desires to spice up those cellar-deep approval scores. i'm going to guess he will hire some extremely-conservative ghost author to trump up his "conflict on Terror" for some inflated biography down the line, so he could be forged in the comparable mild as FDR or Lincoln.

bush NEVER said sadaam was the mastermind of 9/11. Bush doesn't "exploit" the military, he uses it.
Iraq was a strategic way to install military forces into the region to counter Iran and their nuclear ambitions (as was Afghanistan). Look at a map. Iran is surrounded. It's not coincidence. We knew we needed to be present to counter Iran's nuclear ambitions and intent to destroy Israel, so the mobilization was sold to the people (with lies, like EVERY OTHER PRESIDENT IN HISTORY) because we/congress would never have allowed it based on the truth.
In the end, these actions are to protect US interests economically and militarily around the world. People need to stop complaining about being lied to. Our last president committed PURJURY! FDR committed treasonous unconstitutional acts with the New Deal. Reagon sold arms to our enemies in Iran, then lied to the Supreme Court. Kennedy lied about Cuba and Bay of Pigs. It's how things have always been done. It's time for america to toughen up and stop being such babies.

Yep, he does exploit the military and 9-11 for his own gain because that was how he got re-elected in '04 in addition to stealing the election once again. Yet whenever we mention the military or 9-11(I'm referring to the Democrats), he has the gall to accuse us of exploiting both. It's clear that he has no room to talk because he wasn't in the army to begin with unlike some of the politicians who were in combat during the Vietnam War and that all 9-11 did was boost his approval rating at the time(which was rather low, I might add).

I voted for Bush twice and think he is trying to protect our country. The problem with advisors is that the president hires people that tell him what he wants to hear. A good president will hire people that will tell him the truth and argue with him. Bush has turned out to be a poor president. Although he is sincere, he has not got much depth.
