Thanks for any help. I have to do this on my own cause the police and fbi said it's a civil matter and they can't do anything about it. Even though it's also mail fraud cause i sent a money order. but thanks for any info. I appreciate it.

I went to the post master and they told me i cannot cancel the money order because he already received it. I have done everything there is to do and have gotten no where. I don't want to hack into his computer i just want to find out his real name that owns the computer like how to find his IP address that connects it to a name or something cause i need to take him to court but you have to have his REAL name to do that not his alias's

If it's mail fraud, then take it up with your postmaster -- and with the police. Fraud is generally criminal, not civil, assuming you're in the US, so the police *will* help. If one police department won't help you, try another. Or contact your state Attorney General (again, assuming you're in the US).

The ISP of the person you're trying to track probably has some information about his real identity, as does Yahoo! Auctions, but both of those will only share that information in the course of a legal investigation. So you're back to the police again.

Don't you dare hack into this guy's computer. That will land *you* in hot water, not him.

If you have sent a money order, then your best bet is to handle this using the Post Master of your local post office. Mail Fraud should be handled directly thru him, especially since it was his post office that the fraud was used for. As for hacking, that is not good. If you could give a little more detail I might be able to give you a lot more info on identifying this person without using hacking. Hope this helps

Well if you get into the guys computer, the FBI will gladly become involved as it's a federal offense to hack into someone's computer. So....good luck and let me know how prison is...

The other route is to contact Yahoo and see what they can do. You buy at your own risk at online auctions.
