How much money do one hit wonders make for the first year?

The studio will advance them money to record their album or song. Then when the song makes money, the record company has to be paid back PLUS get the regular record company profits, leaving a one-hit wonder, well, wondering. Wondering if there'll be a 2nd hit off that same album so the band can eat at a real resturant for a change... ;-)

It depends on the hit. Some keep getting rediscovered and come back around again.
Come and Get Your Love by Redbone has been remade several times.
