well i don't kno if i should have lashed out @ him like i did he's one of my best friends & i told him off & now i feel sorry but i don't just wanna give up so easily

Not mad, just disappointed because true friends know that you have a special place for them in your heart. True friends don't ask these kinds of questions only friends that are jealous or insecure ask. What you should do is reassure this friend that they have a very special place in your heart. It's probably just insecurity...

If he is just a friend tell him that he should be happy that you selected him as such. No one has the right to select your friends for you. There is no reason why you can't have more than one friend. Unless this guy is talking about your choice for boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. If that's the case, tell him that you are not ready for that kind of relationship and are leaving that option open be having multiple friends. If he can't accept this then he isn't really your friend to begin with.

Your friend needs to feel the your friendship with him is secure. So, I think you should just tell him that you do care about him and that feeling will always be there even tho you have other friends
