Ali (pbuh) would be happy that after 1500 years the rights to women have been restored to the women of the world.

But he would be sad that so many women in Middle Eastern countries are not given their rights as dictated by Islam and instead are dictated by culture.

Islam was given to the people of the world and it showed that men and women are equal. Women have the same rights as men in all areas of life. Women were given the right to be born without fear, own property, dictate who they want to marry, what they want to do with their own bodies and vote over 1000 years before they were started to be given these rights in Europe. Once these rights started to be given by European powers they started to be taken away from women in the Middle East.

He would be devastated that the Koran has been so twisted by so many people. He would be abhorred by Al Queida. He would think that no progress has been made in women's rights. Especially in the Middle East. Mohammed loved Khadiga, a very powerful business woman who did not wear a veil and that was in the 600s.!!!

Yeah, I know you talking about the Mo's wenching relative. Hmmm. Probably something like "y'know, ever since that punch-drunk bozo boosted our names, nobody gives an armpit fart about who we were, what we said, or what we'd being saying now if we weren't fertilizer."
