alright, well my boyfriends dad is in iraq right now. he has to serve for 4 months, possibly more. but he doesnt really get along with his mom. and his parents are divorced. once his dad gets back he's going to live with him. and his father lives further away from where we both live now. what would you do in a situation like that? i love my boyfriend to death and don't want to let him go, i just don't know what to do about a long distance relationship. we've been going out for 3 1/2 years off and on but on for long periods of time just little breaks in between the 3 times we've been going out. would you keep it going or just let him go?

It's really hard to tell. Long distance relationships are always difficult and can be stressful. If it was meant to be then your paths will cross again one day. But on the chance its not, let him go. If you are close to 18 or able to support yourself then maybe you can just let him go for a while and then move closer to him if thats what you want. Either way, just listen to what your heart is telling you.

His Father is returning from Iraq. First his Father needs much needed rest and time to calm down. It's not like he was stationed in the states. This man has seen and indured more than we could ever imagine. Let his son be by his side. Allow them to get to know one another again. Should you and your boyfriend be meant to be, he will contact you and have you come there with them. Currently his Father needs time to comes to some sort of peace with all that has happened in Iraq.

You can't really make that decision right now; until you start going through it. If the relationship is strong and you are meant to be together, then it will last.

You can't stop him from going, he's not a pet.
If the two of you really care for each other you'll find a way to make it work or a way back to each other.

he would be kinda selfish to leave bec that only shows he doesn't care abt u...u r not the one who decides whethere YOU are keeping or letting him go...HE is the one who decides whether or not he is leaving......if he thinks u r not worthwhile for him to stay, screw him and get another bf...it sounds cold but u dont want someone who always puts you as backup...u always come last...

long distance relationship will never ever work
