long tunics make people look slimmer. Also, at least for me, 3/4 inch sleeved shirts make me look thinner because they make my arms look longer, and if its a long shirt that works good as well. Layering long tops you look thinner. Or you could wear a crop jacket that comes above your waist and a long top to make your waist slimmer. Pair those with skinny jeans and your good to go. Also dark colors are good and try to avoid stripes of any kind.

Heels as uncomfortable as they are, make you appear taller and more slender. If ellongeates those legs. Avoid stipes especially the ones that go around not up or down. They have a new "skinny jean" available in many different stores.
Wearing black can make you look slender as well, but dont overdo the black so you look like darkness. Low rise jeans help prevent that pooch that happens when we sit.

Try jeans or slack like material pants with black boots. Look for a LONG black sweater somewhere..TJ Max Usually has them. This sweater needs to come a little bit past your butt. By a either FAT black belt or FAT silver belt to go around the waist/stomach area. If your not the dressy type...wear all black, dress it up with another color...example: Black shirt, jeans, black boots, glittery belt, earrings, necklace or maybe pink earring, necklace, things like that. Accessorize with a different color. To make u look taller...wear UP AND DOWN striped clothing. :)

Dark colours always make you look slimmer. Dress to accentuate the best parts of your body. Also watch What not to wear on TLC. Very good tips!!!

You're fine.
I'm about the same and sometimes American Eagle Outfitters xs is too big for me.
This is the closest color to black shirt I own, it's a dark grey and this isn't too sexy on me. In fact, this is the only shirt I own that's this dark:
