I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. About 20 bucks. It's great to get them used to so that when you travel to someone else's home they feel more comfortable when they sleep.

I alternately used the tv and radio to create white noise. I also had a bubbler lamp that work very well. It was a cylindrical lamp that had those little colorful fish in it that would rise and fall in the bubbles while the lamp turned different colors. It worked as a great nightlight for when I stepped in to check on my son and created just enough noise to be soothing. If you want a machine that has afew different choices of sounds like rain or babbling brook, check in stores around where they have the relaxation stuff like seat massagers and aromatherapy items. There are little devices that look like an alarm clock that you can sit on the bed side table or dresser.

We have an annoying dog next door as well! We have a large fan that we use for white noise, we thought that we would try it before buying an actual noise machine. It works wonderfully! Our daughters now sleep without being bothered by the noisy dog!

I have to admit I had never heard of these, when my daughter was born I made a point of making noise around her right from day 1, she is 9 months old and I can vacuum under her bed while she is asleep and she wont even stir...

But that doesn't help you...lol...so below I have posted a link that might help...

There is a CD called For Crying Out Loud which is a white noise CD.

We use an air purifier in our son's room which seems to comfort him.

Obusforme has a sound therapy thing which has your choice of several sounds including a heartbreat and white noise. Most pharmacies carry them along with Home Health Care and I've seen them at Walmart. $20-$25 Battery powered and comes with a AC adaptor also. I used it for years for myself and my daughter.

Put a TV set in his room and turn it to a channel that doesn't have a signal. The combination of sound and glow from the screen will do the trick.

Try a small fan and/or heater...You can also play some music or some of his favorite songs on a cd...Baby's also love the sound of a loud clock..

I agree with everything everyone else says on here, i did the exact same things my kids they would sleep through anything!!
t.v. , stereo and the fan, they all work great!
I would save my money and use something at home.
