For Downloading The Update (which is now 3.01) Via Computer May Be A Little Hectic..
You Will Need A USB A To USB B Cord.
Plugging The PSP To PC Using The Cord, Put Your PSP To 'USB Mode' By Choosing The 'USB Connection' Option On The Settings Category Of The PSP Home Menu.
On The PC, Go To 'My Computer' And A New Drive Should Appear, Click It And You Should Find The 'PSP' Folder, Then 'GAME', And Drag The Update File There..
That Is If You Have The Update Downloaded On Your PC Already..
If Not, Go Here (1)..
Now, You'll Want To Drag The File Into The 'GAME' Folder, When It's Done, Disconnect And On Your PSP, Go To The Game Category And The Bottom-Most Option On The Home Menu, Then Find The PSP Firmware Update.
Follow The Instructions And It Will Download.
Note That Your PSP's Battery Will Need To Be Good And You'll Need The Charger Plug Plugged In During Updating.
For An Easier Way, Go To 'System Update' On The Settings Category Of Your PSP And If You Have A Wireless Connection, You Can Simply Download The File Wirelessly And Set It Up Afterwards..
After The Update, You Can Delete The Update File In Your 'GAME' Folder..
The 3.0 Update Has Some Cool Features, Like Online Manuals, PS3 Connectivity, Ability To Play PS1 Games, Quicker Fast Forward Options On The Audio Playback, And A Cool Audio Visualizer..
With All These, There's Also Some Security Updates, So If You Are The Kind Of Person For 'Homebrews', Tough Luck. Considering That You Have A 2.0 Update, It Really Shouldn't Concern You..
