I don't know, hon...and I hope it's nothing serious and heals up real soon.
Just one man's opinion here, but I've never understood the fascination with piercings. I mean...think about it...one of the sexiest parts of a pretty woman is that cute little belly button. So what do some of them do? Go and get somebody to stick a hole through it, so they can wear something similar to what a hog wears on its damn snout.
Go figure...

Personally, my belly piercing didn't heal for the first six months when I had a ring in it. I think it was due to the ring moving around a lot and the friction from the waist bands of pants/shorts/etc. Once I replaced it with a barbell it healed quickly. After three years though, I suggest you talk to you doctor about it, there may be more going on. Good luck!

I'd say you could be allergic to the ring you have put in...or your body is just rejecting the piercing. I'd say if after 3 years it still hasn't healed, it's time to give up sweetie and just take it out!!!

I agree with Patuzy. My belly-ring kept my piercing irritated until I replaced it with a barbell as well . But after 3 years something is wrong, I also suggest you see your doctor

You might be diabetic.
You could have a disease like cancer.
You might be allergic to the nickel in the jewelry you are wearing.
You pick at it so it never gets a chance to heal.
In any case, you really should see a doctor.
