I know I asked this question awhile ago, but I found this picture on the internet: http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h155/sbm180_photos/boots/t13.jpg

This looks like an advertisment for jika-tabi for the street. It looks like it is or could become popular for street-wear in Japan. If it does, is there any chance that it could become popular in America?

I'm sorry, but a photo-shoot like that is NOT representative of true life! Think of the trashy outfits some 'models' wear on the catwalk in Paris, London, Milan, etc., and then consider how many people in real life actually WEAR that cr@p ... then you'll understand the purpose of this picture. I've never seen anyone looking like THAT - although I'll admit that there are some truly extreme and weird looking people in certain 'fashionable' areas, but even so I've never seen one dressed like HIM!

Does that person in the photograph looks like a Japanese? just by looking at one image we can't decide if it could become popular.

In olden times it were used by Ninjas at present construction workers use it.

American always want to do something unique there is a chance if they know how soft it is and how easy is to walk. Specially look at the style on fingers.

One point advise* putting it is difficult and the most difficult part is clipping. You may think of with fastner and make that in USA.

Fishermen wear tabi when they walk on rocks -- they are the original "aqua socks". And they wear them in the US, but not as fashion statements.
