im 25 weeks pregnant, and i noticed the other day(3 days ago) that i was spotting brownish, red blood. I called the dr and he said everything should be okay until i go in for my appointment Monday morning but, now im bleeding really bad. Clots and all, my husband thinks im parrinoid, but im sure there is sum thing wrong. It seems like im having my period, its not really heavy but bad enough that I have to wear a tampon. Is there sum one that can tell me if this is a miscarriage? Im begging for answers plz help.
thanks Rachael

You need to go to the hospital. At 25 weeks your baby could be saved if it is still living. Get off the computer and go now. I was crampy and waited until the doctor appointment and found out my son had no heartbeat on Nov 9th.

Please... leave RIGHT NOW.

... I'm just going to add that I was 18 weeks when my pregnancy ended. By the time you are passing clots it's serious. Some people below appear to be in denial that women can have second or third trimester miscarriages. I didn't even know my baby had died, I had to be induced. I see you posted last week that your were no longer growing and you didn't feel pregnant. SOMETHING is wrong. I knew it with my baby and you know it now. I hope you aren't updating because you are on your way to the hospital.

Firstly Praetorian, If you dont like the blood and period talk then perhaps the pregnancy section isn't the place you want to be hanging out...

Rachael, as everyone has said get yourself off to the doc asap, I hope all goes well for you, I hope you feel a little reassured that miscarriage after 18-20 weeks is very unusual, and if your baby has decided to come early survival rates for baby's this prem are higher than ever before.
May god be with you.

it probably is not a miscarriage but you do need to go to triage right away. there could be a serious problem and it could turn into a miscarriage or early delivery or anything. if you were having a miscarriage then you would be in a lot of unbearable pain and the bleeding would be heavier than a period and no clotting really. you would not be able to type this question. so just so you don't get your blood pressure up freaking yourself out it is probably not a miscarriage but i am not a doctor to diagnose you. you need to go right away i don;t know if i can stress this enough to you.

Do not insert a tampon or anything else into your vagina, just go to the hospital now. I do not think that this is normal. You need to be checked out. At the very least, you'll get an ultrasound out of the deal and be assured everything is fine.

Good luck

I don't think anyone can tell you that is what is going on, but I wouldn't think clots would be a good thing! But again, it could be just old blood/tissue......and...at 25 weeks, I don't think it would be a miscarriage...that is usually before 20 weeks.

You may have placenta issues (Placenta Previa or Placenta Abruption) which could cause your baby distress.

I would call your OB like NOW (on call OB) and tell them what is going on. You certainly don't want to put your child in any sort of danger. Your OB may want you to go into Labor and Delivery to be checked for these issues.

Do it NOW.

Some women have periods through their pregnancy without complication. They can be irractic. You should have contacted your doctor when this started today. Try to contact him now if you can,.. just to be safe.

If your not cramping then that may be better then if you were, Usually though Miscarriages go like that *snaps fingers*.. okay not that fast but they are sudden. Your not haveing such sudden things. If you worry about it though you could push yourself into it,.. so you might want to talk to someone medical in reality right now and them convince you to calm down. It's better for you and the baby if you do.

Your how many months along? (My brain is like " No! No math right now,.. I'm busy being lazy.")

If its as bad as you say i would go to the hospital ASAP. Dont wait for any more answers its not worth the risk. I few light spots is normal but clotting red blood means something could be very wrong.

Good luck - i hope you and your baby are ok.

First of all get the tampn out, it can cause infection and thats the last thing you need. Get to a hospital straight away, you shouldnt be bleeding at all at 25 weeks that is really frightening, it may be nothing or something simple to fix, but if its not, then you need to get help. good luck and i hope everythings ok

Every pregnancy, every baby, every body is very different.

Something is NOT right. You need medical attention IMMEDIATELY.

She is 6 months, 1 week pregnant. The term "miscarriage" is incorrect this late in pregnancy. It is either premature birth, or stillbirth.

DON'T WEAR A TAMPON. Not when you're pregnnat it can be very very harmful. If you are bleeding that bad you need to go to the hospital. It could be placenta Arupto which can be very fatel to mother and child. Please go to the hospital asap.
