OK, I have two monitors, one is a Flat screen CRT and the other is a standard CRT but it has a higher refresh rate (up to 85) the one I'm using now...the flat screen CRT only goes up to 60, which one would provide me with better graphics in games, photo editing, movies, etc...? the reason I'm asking is I got a sweet new graphics card ;)

the one with the higher refresh rate -- the other one only goes to 60 htz ??/ how old is that damned thing ?

Anything @ 60 hz to 65 or lower is bad for your eyes, the human eye sees @ 60 fps, so if the image is that- or close you can see "shaking" even if you dont notice it -- its there -- it can cause headaches, eyestrain, even seizures.

Make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers, and grfx card drivers -- that will help considerably.

.....and get an LCD -- welcome to the 19th century !!! :)

Use the one with a higher refresh rate. First and foremost, it will be easier on your eyes since a refresh rate below 72 Hz results in eye fatigure after an extended period of time looking at the monitor. There is really no difference in how photo editors and movies will show and play on your monitor even with a new graphics card. Also, games typically rely on a good graphics card so that's probably a moot point regarding your choice of monitors, however with a higher refresh rate you'll notice less flickering.

Both will do the same job. But higher refresh rate is better for your eyes and gives you less headaches. Use 85 herts which means the screen is refreshed 85 times per second.

its visibly not matter how fast is monitors refresh rate, but yes higher one provides more high contrast and brightness ratio than lesser one. But 60Hz is not bad, its absolutely fine. and yes it will also provide you better looks and pictures. You can go for it, it will also help you to control ur some electicity bill due to its less refresh rate. So go for Flat panel CRT. CRT's are always good for gaming.
