I know every child is different, and such behavior is not abnormal, but can anybody suggest something?

He can go without sleeps for hours. No matter how long do I keep him up -even if 5 hous, he still falls asleep for no more th 30 min. He is cranky in the evenings, you can tell that he wants to sleep but if put to bed would have had time faling asleep and if he finally gives in , his up and cranky again 20-30 min later...

My son did the same thing at that age. What I found worked was, try keeping him awake a bit longer inbetween naps. Hes probably close to, or at the age now to where he can hold his head and possibly hold it while laying on his stomach. Try playing with him with his toys. I found that worked. Just before bedtime I would bathe him then I would dress him according to the weather and put him into his stroller and go out for a 30 minute walk. Usually this would work. As he got older he started taking less naps in the daytime but they were longer nap, things got a bit easier.

How many times and is he sleeping at night? If he is sleeping at night , you are lucky if not then join the crowd. Mine is the same way but she is now 11 months old. I do not think this is an abnormal thing some children are just like that ..like it or not .. I am sorry the only advice I can give is that you might want to designate a time for his sleep and make him stay in his bed for that period of time crying or not. and after a while he will get the hang of it mine finally did at bed time ( putting her self to sleep )( she still wakes up like 2 X's a night for a bottle) The daycare got her to take a nap with the other kids on a 1-2 hr. period around noon.

Good Luck to You!!

honeslty like you mentioned each child is different. MY daughter took 20-30 minute naps until she was 10 1/2 months old. NOW she takes about 2 1-11/4 hour naps.

How many naps does he take?

My son was a power napper too. I just stretched his naps out. I'd keep him awake as long as I could before putting him down. I've now got him taking two naps. Morning is 1-2 hours and afternoon is 2 - 4 hours.

Good Luck! It just takes consistency and he'll be there :))

My two month old started to do that. I put her in her swing in front of the tv and let her lay play with her mobile. Just because their awake doesn't mean they need you to hold them. They need alone time too.

Well what i would do is crop him up with a pillow in his bed wrap him up in a blanket and rub his back it should help him sleep.
it works with my 5month old brother, also try to let him cry himself too sleep.
