My husband went to put something in the dishwasher and it was leaking all over! I turned 3 different things under the sink off, and the cold water is off, but not the hot water. The water keeps coming out through a small hole! Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

It sounds like the inlet valve has failed, You need to turn the Hot water off to the dishwasher ,follow the pipe going to the dishwasher and turn it off all the way or it will keep dripping. YOU NEED A NEW INLET VALVE.

You need to shut off the hot water to dishwasher. Those three are hot and cold to the sink and hot to the dishwasher.

Is that small hole on a pipe or on a hose or on the motor or on the tub of the dishwasher? If the water is coming out of a hole then it is not the inlet valve which would raise the entire level of water till it overflowed. If there is nothing that can be tightened on the flexible connection of water to the dishwasher or any other obvious plumbing connection then you need to shut it off and buy a new one.

Leaking is going to kill your floor and the ceiling below. Your homeowners policy might cover that floor and ceiling damage.

Typical dishwasher lasts about ten years.

Dishwashers "run" on hot water. You may,or not, have a water shut off under the sink for the d/w. Sounds like the problem lies in the water fill valve not closing completely , which would allow water to enter inside and overflow -- never stopping. Change out this valve -- it"s located behind the toe plate cover ,underneath.
