I don't know which one to get, or that I need to get based on what I use them for, and they're at Sams Club, so no one there knows anything about them. I am on the internet A LOT, so I need speed. I take lots of high resolution photos and upload them. I multi-task all the time, and enjoy playing/downloading games and music. Here are the specs, which one do I need? I don't know what this stuff means. Thank you!

600GB Hard drive

3.AMD Athlon 64 X2

I like #3 for it's processing power(and AMD Chipset), memory and hard drive storage capacity. Of course, you mention viewing photos so having a 22" LCD would be nice from that aspect. Honestly I suspect all four would meet your needs for the things you've mentioned so it probably should come down to 1) if you prefer AMD or Intel and if your willing to pay the extra cash for the extra 1GB of RAM (which I would) and larger disk drive.

Well, I really don't like anything w/ a windows operating system. They don't fine tune there software, creating annoying glitches like you wouldn't believe. I would get a iMac w/ an intel processor. Mac computers are GREAT for media (Beats windows to a pulp) and pictures (iphoto ROCKS) and internet because it dosn't have as many stupid glitches. If you really want a windows though. The basics to computer shopping is that the RAM/SDRAM is random access memory, which is usefull for games/other programs, and the more GB of hard drive memory the better. Not shure about the other stuff, but if it's Intel, it's normally pretty good. Hope this helps u out a little PS I don't work for mac lol

I would choose #4 but full utilization of both cores simultaneously (2 CPU's on one socket) is not possible on Windows XP. Windows Vista will be able to use both cores efficiently. Yet, I would stick w/ Intel Core 2 Duo. They seriously outperform the AMD X2's and use less power per core. If you don't believe me go to extremetech.com and find the article about Intel Core 2 Duo (don't remember which article, but browse under 'CPU' tab). You can see benchmark scores of these processors and you'll see the difference. AMD X2's and Pentium D's eat a lot of power. So make the call.

Number three is going to get you the most performance. AMD almost always outperforms Intel side by side due to the architecture of their CPU.

But make sure you are sticking with a major brand name, not some Gateway, Dell or other low end junk. Once you get the computer you can and should offload all the useless crap that the computer makers are putting on them now days. You'll improve the performance right from the start and prevent possible future conflicts.

PS, I own a computer service company.

Go for the HP with the Core 2 processor. That is what I have and it is perfect for multi-tasking. I can be on the net, downloading mutiple things at once, installing programs, listning to music, and the processor still keeps up.

I would pick either #2 because of the big hard drive or #4 for the Core2Duo processor with the huge monitor.
If it were me, I'd go with #4.

Looking at all the specs you offered number 4 would be your best choice.
