Yes, because I suffer from insomnia... There's times I'll sit on the computer at night until I can't keep my eyes open anymore... if I wait to turn the computer off, the moment passes and I wake up again.

Leave it on. It does no harm and might actually extend the life of your computer. The stresses involved with heating up and getting everything moving again are more damaging than the minor wear and tear of it idling all night.

Modern computers us almost no power in standby mode. The hard drive stops spinning and the processors go to sleep. They have just the very basics running and power consumption is very low.

Yes I do. It is because when you turn it on or off, it lessens the life of ur pc and it uses a lot of wasteful power. When I think it's kind of stalled, I just restart it. I've never turned off my laptop when at night except for when I go travelling. :)

No: It's a waste of power, it will lessen the life of the PC, it's pointless, noisy, and the extra power usage causes more environmental damage.

No. It will leave your hard drive spinning and spinning and spinning until it flies apart into bits and pieces and scares the cat off the balcony.

No I shut it down. I even shut it down if I am not going to use it for a few hours. I wonder now if I should do it that way.
