My pediatrician told us that after 14 months we could give our son Dimetapp "Children's Cold and Allergy Elixer" - not the infant drops (he said you'll go broke because at that age, they basically take half the bottle). The Dimetapp dosage instructions are for Children over 12 months and over 18lbs, 3/4 tsp every 6-8 hours, not to exceed 4 doses in 24 house. For under 18lbs, it's 1/2 tsp every 6-8 hours. It worked like a charm for us. When that didn't work, 1/4 a tsp of Children's Claritin every 24 hours worked - but you can't do both. Good luck!

You can give her infant tylenol. It works like a charm for my 9 month old. You can also give her Benedryl...but make sure you ask the doctor how much to take. They said that my 8 month old at the time could take 1/2 teaspoon of the children Benedryl...and boy does that stuff work like a charm. Her nose cleared up and she slept really good. Good luck.

I would call a pharmacist, they could suggest an appropriate medication for her weight and age. You can use a nasal saline mist like "Little Noses" or "Ocean" for temporary relief. Also I would put a cool mist humidifier in her room. It sounds like she has an ear infection, get alot of fluids into her and get her to the doctor as soon as you can. I hope you little one feels better soon.

Call the pediatrican on call and ask them what you should give her. You may want to take her to an after hours care clinic.Either way the peditrican will tell you what to do.
