Don't worry about it until it has been at least two or three months. Irregular periods are normal for all women sometimes. The delay could be related to stress or any number of other things.
If your period hasn't started within a week take another pregnancy test. If it is still negative, try not to worry about it for at least another month. If it still hasn't arrived by then, you should talk to your doctor to rule out any other potential problems.

A number of things can delay periods such as stress, change of lifestyle or environment, weight loss, weight gain, new medication, excessive exercise. Give it another week anyway and then see your doc if it hasn't come.

In addition to the advice above, if you've gained some weight recently but haven't changed your eating/exercise habits, have skin tags on your neck/chest/shoulders, slightly darker skin around groin/armpits, or are unusually thirsty/hungry, go see a doctor right away. Skipping periods is one of the first symptoms of poly-cystic ovarian disorder and/or insulin resistance.
If nothing else has changed recently, other than skipped period, give it a little time. All women miss a month now and again.

you need to see your G.P as test can be wrong i have been a victim of that myself. dont get stressed as this will only make things worse but if you have had a negative result from a urine test you need to have a blood test done by your local G.P..............sometimes the levels in your urine do not detect the pregnancy where as a blood test can. i am sure if you explain this to your G.P they will be very understanding. best of luck lol

You also could of gotten a false negative answer on your test. you never get a false positive. make sure the test is not out of date and you are doing the test as the directions says. And all of the above is right too, except of course for the snide remarks.

Well, that's what usually happens. Periods can just change the timings. Wait for another couple of weeks, then go to a doctor and see whats up.

a poor diet may affect your ovulating you need to check if you are within a healthy zone of your body max index and if you are the right weight for your age and height.best thing would be to see you doctor if you are certain you are not pregnant.stress and depression also have a direct link to these things.an ultrasound may help show you what is happening with your ovaries.

Occasionally, girls or women can "skip" a period. I would, however, contact your physician just to be sure as the tests aren't always 100% or it could be due to some other problem.
