Mold and mildew remover spray.

I'm just kidding. lol Oh let's see now, usually one of the hardest things to clean can be cleaned with last product you try to use. I use a combination of products. Your towels may be ruined but if you refuse to give up so easily, you may want to try a laundry booster. Try mixing Tide laundry detergent and Oxy Clean powder by making a paste and apply to the stains with a tooth brush. Then Let them soak over night in a little bit of sudsy water.

My all time favorite that always keep on hand is SA8 Solutions PreWash Spray spot treatment. It's made in the USA. You can order some by looking in your phone book for an Amway Representative.

Try washing them in borax laundry soap 2x's this should get rid of the mold. You could also try a mixture of vinegar and baking soda too. It is really hard to get mold out of coloured items but hopefully one of these will help. There is also a product called oxy-mold that might work.
