Dont u think Americas obsession with celebrities is getting out of control?

sometimes I almost feel that celebs are running this country and, yes, we are way too obsessed with them and their mediocrity. Most of them simply aren't that talented, wonderful, etc. In fact there are some movies actors whose movies I will not see.

I don't think it is necessarily an "obsession", but they are the ones who we see on t.v., movie screens and award shows, so inasmuch as they may be overexposed at times, without them, we'd have no entertainment or anyone to make fun of when they screw up, as most of them will eventually do...and every once in awhile an actor will come around that simply acts, you don't hear about their private life, they don't get egotistical and they provide us with some good quality entertainment...the alternative would be worse, I for one, could not live without my t.v.....

Well,kind of because they pick a certain celeb and chat about them non stop.I have to admit I do that with Miley Cyrus and Green Day.Anyways,I think we should all get the chance to try to be a celeb.And we should get treated the same as the celebs.

Maybe people live their lives vicariously through knowing so much about a celebrities life.

definitely. its insane. kids look up to those celebrities cuz they're everywhere and are supposed to be super "cool" when they are totally setting a bad example to little kids. also who really cares what they do?

yeah i guess so. I dont understand it really since most people I know could care less. They are overrated.
