The following could minimize the occurence of freezes
1. Restart your computer
2. Defrag your hard disk
3. Delete unneccessary files
>empty recycle bin
>leave at least 1 GB of free hard disk space
4. Uninstall programs that are not important to you.
5. Scan for viruses and spywares
6. Delete temporary internet files
7. Avoid opening too many programs and applications

after i try everthing thats supposed to help and dosen't as a last resort i unplug the power for a minute or two then plug it in and start the computer this usually works for me.
