Any cell phone should be good, so long as it helps you to stay in contact with your elders and friends

Before you purchase a cell phone for a high school student, look at the schools handbook as to the rules that the school already has established for the use of cell phones.
At some high schools, they have a cell phone free zones which means that students are not allowed cell phones in the classroom and if they are seen with them, they are taken away and given back at the end of the period.
As to your question as to which phone is the best, I have a Boost phone which means that they must get a Boost card to add more minutes. I think that the student should have to pay for this because it would teach them how to budget their phone time.
Hope that this helps.

I don't know if any particular cell phone is "better" for a high school student. I would look into a cell phone company that offers a family plan which usually includes free phones. If you get a new cell number and plan, you should probably use the same company as your parents or elders to allow unlimited calls between you guys.

There isn't much difference between phones. Even the most basic phones can make calls and text message. IMHO, the more extras a phone has, the more it will invite the teen to screw around in class, especially when they first get it.
Personally, I would get them any phone on the TracFone plan. Give them a certain amount of minutes for the year and when they use them up, that's it, they are on their own.
I think 200 minutes and a year of activation runs about $100 plus another $20 for the basic phone or about $60 for their high end phone.
I found it to be the most reasonable prepaid plan and have one myself.

Well, I have to say that I am not a highschool student anymore, but I'm a college student. I believe a good cell phone would be the Verizon Motorola.

I'm in high school too, and it depends on what you're gonna use the cell phone for. if its mostly for style and to show off get a side kick, or motorola razor. but mine is basically for staying in touch woth friends and family, so i have one of those basic phones that were not that xpensive. we also have t-mobile, so anyone who has it ( my parents, friends) i can talk for free with them. every 2 years though, we have the option of getting new phones for real cheap, so in a way, we're getting style and functionality.

definite you're able to have a telephone IF: a million) you're an stunning pupil and your grades does not be laid low which include your cellular telephone use. 2) it does not be a burden financially on your parents 3) You under no circumstances take it to type because it fairly is disruptive to the academic of the different pupils if it rings. 4) you could convince your parents which you're mature sufficient to handle one. in case you could actually say that that a million-3 are real and you're able to do #4, I vote for a telephone for you.
