haha I read that quickly and thought you wrote "WANT to buy a 9 year old for xmas?" lol .....okay, well if you're her parent this isn't a good suggestion, but for anyone else try a gift card/certificate to a clothing store, (or a sports store if she's into sports at all) kids that age like to have the freedom of shopping for something themselves, a way to express themselves and gives them a sense of independence.....plus, it's fun to shop.
If you need other gift ideas: Bratz dolls are pretty popular, cd's are still in - choose some kind of compilation of the year's best pop songs (Dance Mix 2006 or something similar- but make sure it can be exchanged if she wants to pick something else out),
if she's crafty, one of those do-it-yourself jewelry kits at craft stores (Michael's has them if you have one close) - string/hemp bracelets....I dunno, that's all I can come up with for now without knowing anything about her....good luck!
