No, Ike was a intelligent person. He, understood why Social Security and those programs were put in place. He was a person old enough to remember the terrible great depression. He in no way could have predicted somebody would come along as ignorant as G.W. Bush.

I think that he was not speaking of Bush but of things to be if they continued in the manner they were going. I mean look at his farewell speech.

Sounds like that to me, but then again, Ike was not the typical Republicans of now. I'd like to imagine what Ike thinking now about people like Bush and Cheney.
