The best and quickest way is to turn off your water, drain as much water out of the toilet as possible, remove the two bolts (one on either side of the base), lift the toilet up and remove the bottle by hand, most usually these items get trapped in the S shaped trap just under the toilet. Before replacing the toilet to its position be sure that your wax seal has not been disturbed or flattened, if it has the seal will need to be replaced before replacing the toilet. A wax seal cost approximately $2, and it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the seal as to be sure that the seal is good to prevent the toilet from leaking later. Then place the toilet back into position and tighten the bolts back down, turn the water back on and the job is done.

Remove as much water from the toilet bowl as possible. Use a small mirror, and a wire coat hanger, (don't worry about it scratching, marks on the porclein will not damage it and can be removed with a scouring stone) you can try to fish it out. If that does not work and it is stuck, you need to pull the toilet off the floor. This would entail empting the tank and removing it. Then remove the toilet.
Take it outside and turn it upside down, you can then run a hose of water pressure from the bottom. This usually will dislodge anything that isn't wedged in tightly.
To replace the toilet, you will need a new "wax ring" found at any hardware store, and perhaps some sealant "caulking" to seal the outside edge back to the flooring. Then replace the tank and seal if needed.

You may have to pull the toilet up, unless you have a snake with a sharpened end on it and hope you get lucky. Just pull the toilet up. My son used to flush his little rubber boats and hot wheels and I am now a seasoned pro at pulling the pooper up. Make sure nobody craps in it in the meantime because that will make it a job that you will never forget and wish you would never remember. LOL! Also, get a new wax ring, the one where the toilet sticks to the hole in the floor? Cause if you are going to pull the toilet up, you may as well fix the one thing that may go wrong in the future so you don't have to do that nasty job again. Most important, like I said before, absolutely no pooping in that toilet until it gets fixed. Let your daughter sit and watch you fix it and blurt out expletives the whole time. LOL! Good luck.

Not a plumber - but I think I would rent a 'snake'
and put that wire down the toilet - should free the item up and bring it back to you
if that fails - will have to disassemble the toilet and take the seat off the floor - will need a new wax ring to replace the one that is there (and have some newspaper available to wad up and put in the hole as a temporary block -= p u

First, go to supply house and get a heavy duty toilet auger, don't force the auger, use the rotation to move it into the trap, then when you contact the bottle , back and forth to dislodge it. I'm sure you'll be needing the auger again.

make your daughter put her hand in and dig around. No your other answers sum it up. I just want you to know that it is not that hard of job I'm a woman and have done it a few times. I do all my plumbing pipes and everything.
