I started my monthly cycle on Tuesday and it was a redish color, now on Thursday it was a brown color, today it is still dark brown. I really haven't had a real cycle since Aug. 3rd. I know I should go see a doctor but I do not have insursnce at this point and I can not afford to pay out of pocket because I had a family emergency last week which took most of my cash. I'm asking if anyone has ever had this before? If so what was it? I'm not asking for people to put me down because I have no insurance or money, I just want honest answers please.

believe me honey , we all don't have money or insurance. don't be ashamed of that. sometimes cycles do that. depending on how old you are, and how athletic you are, your cycle will not be regular, or the same every time. try going to a free clinic. your county should have one for women. don't worry, just get checked out.

Old blood is brown, it sounds like you're just bleeding a little bit. Could you be pregnant? If so, it could be the result of a bleed.
If you're definitely not pregnant, then you're probably just not bleeding very much. Take a hot bath and soak for a long time (only if you're definitely not pregnant), this should help things along.
If you are still experiencing dark brown bleeding in 10 days then you might consider going to a doctor (or seeing a nurse practitioner in private practice if they have such things in your area--it could be cheaper).
It should stop in a few days naturally, though, so take the hot bath and try not to worry about it too much until at least this time next week.
Good luck!

This type of experiences are normal in the present conditions / trend /of living / life styles. You know what I mean pressure /stress etc. Colour usually changes in the end to what you mentioned .Especially in the initial first few years(real cycle) for some it is 3 days and for some it is 5 days which one is for you.
There is no need to worry ,all I can suggest is douse your self with Luke warm water mixed with salt so that it removes all the pains and aces and bad odour .and keep warm .i think this should help you without spending any money / insurance

It is impossible to give you a complete and honest answer without a full exam. However, you might consider utilizing your local health department to lower the expense related to this needed exam. Good luck! Hope everything is okay.

Health department. County hospitals often provide charity (but you have to ask for it as they don't advertise). You should be seen to make sure you are not pregnant or have an infection of some type causing it.
Best Wishes,
Sue

hey girl it's ok you don't need to see a dr. it's just old blood trying to get out go with the flow . if you notice any oder then you need to go the womans clince closes to you they have slider fee to see the dr. and it won't cost you a dime. if there is an oder then most likely you have an infection and that can lead to not being able to have babys. hope this is helpful good luck

Yes, you should go to the doctor. I had this years ago. I ended up having cysts on my ovaries. I also had problems with pain. You don't want to let this go on and on. If you go without medical care, you may end up in need of major surgery.

I'm a guy so I wouldn't know, but you should check out www.webmd.com They have an extensive database, where you can just decribe symtoms and comes up with diagnoses. Its a real great tool.

you might want to try to find a planned parenthood...its like a free OB clinic, or just go to a free clinic.
