Does anyone know where I can purchase a rat cage not exceeding the limit of $60.
Oh and any ideas on how to presuade my mum to allow me to get a rat!!!!! Heheheheh

They have really nice cages for rats at petsmart for about $30 and rats are about $10 and as far as convincing mom do some research, get your facts strait and compare rats to another similar animal like hamsters which bite where rat usually don't unless provoked.

I have a rat and have about twenty dollars in my cage. What I have done it take two small cages I bought at a flea market and set one on top of the other and sebastian the rat enjoys climbing up and down and she has lots of room. Now for convincing your mom, you are on your own. By the way I am the mom who owns the rat my kids are not very keen to the idea lol

As for the cage look in your local pet store. As for your Mum, she may be afraid of rats or thinking you may not be responsible enough yet to care for a pet. Cause if you aren't, she will have to take over the care of your rat. Which adds to her busy day. But you could ask her to help you research rats and visit pet stores with her and ask all the questions you need to help you and her understand their care. And remind her they don't need to be housebroke. I think Rats are pretty cool!! We have had 4 of them for pets. You can teach them tricks to. Just research and learn as much as you can to be a good owner.
