And would you try a vegetarian restaurant if you aren't a vegetarian?

Do your reseach! make up your own polls and ask door to door in the area where you are thinking of opening what they think. You could also cater to other dietary needs. Think of the cheapest ways to advertise. Note most restaurants work on a 25% profit margin. What will be your overhead, rent, equipment, electricity. Who will be able to supply you with fresh produce and dried goods. Self-serve or table service. You would be ahead of the game to offer a really good self-serve salad bar and then two or three meal choices per day. Keeping your menu simple will help keep your profits going into the garbage. You should be able to come up with startup costs and enough capital to keep the business afloat for it's first year. If you don't do your homework a bank won't even talk to you.

I have, and some have been very, very good ( I am not a vegetarian, by the way. Love my meat). They are very hard to keep running though if you aren't in an area that has a lot a vegetarians. Do lots of research on the area you want to be in, make sure it will support your plans. Much luck.

I was a banker for many years and should tell you: opening ANY restaurant is a bad idea (80% fail w/in 2 years). A specialty restaurant requires 3 key elements besides funding - location, experience, and demographics to support it. Good luck!

It is a very good idea, and maybe you could serve specialty dishes too; for example, vegetarian gluten free, yeast free, fungi free, vegan, and so on. Take out and home delivery included. There is a growing market for such cuisine ( healthy and wealthy seniors for example) and not many restaurants involved yet; Good luck.

Yes, but just for a day 'cause I cannot live without meat... and for the restaurant make sure it is located in Indian or punkies neighborhoods.
