Well, I had 2 sections and thought I knew the procedure the first time. I find out the second time around that after the baby is taken out, they take your uterus right out and everything else, intestine, etc. Then, they place everything back. So you want to hope you have a good doctor who knows where everything goes. That is why they make sure afterward you don't have any bowel pain, you pass gas, have bowel movement before you leave the hospital to make sure there aren't any 'knots' in your bowel from them juggling everything around. Needless to say, I was fine both times around and didn't have any complications.
Prior to that they drug you either locally or knock you right out and make their incision after all the prep and out comes your beautiful baby. Not sure what else you wanted to know, but thought you should know this since I had no idea they actually took everything out.

First of all they do not take your intestines out just your uterus. I am a surgical tech in the OR (the one that hands the instruments to the surgeon) and I have seen several c-sections. You will come into the OR and your anesthesiologist will give you your epidural. You will lay down on the bed and the nurse, surgical tech, or whoever the cirulator in the room is will prep and drape you. Once the surgeon comes in and is gowned and gloved they will have a nurse get the father to come in the room (he is not allowed in there until after you get the epidural). The surgeon will ask the surgical tech for a hemostat (usually a towel clip) to make sure you are numb. He will make an incision through the skin and then use a bovie to cauterize through the rest of the muscles and skin. Once he gets ready to make an incision in your uterus he will tell you that you will feel a lot of pressure, this is becasuse your water will brake. The doctor will delivery the baby, ask for suction to suction the babies mouth, cut the cord, hand the baby off to the nurse, and then will place your uterus on your upper abdomen and stitch it up. This is also the time they do a tubal ligation if you elect to have one. Once done with that they irrigate and suction before placing the uterus (just the uterus the intestines never come out) back in the abdomen. They then begin to stitch you up. Once they are done they will clean the excess prep solution off your stomach and then they will push a little bit on your tummy to get out the excess blood. The person standing at the end of the bed with the little plactic tub catching the excess blood will take a raytec and wipe you off. It is pretty routine unless something goes wrong. Pretty simple and like I said I have seen them enough I could do them in my sleep.

i have had 2 c-sections so far and about to have another scheduled one. You will have an epidural, which is a needle in your spine, that will make you numb from the waist down, wont feel a thing. Then while lying on the operating table you will have this "sheet" below your neck, where as you will not be able to see whats happening during the operation. The anesthesiologist will be where your head is and he will talk to you to make sure you are felling OK. During the operation you will not feel any pain but will feel things moving around down there. When I had my c-section my hubby took pics of me sticking out my tongue and smiling and plain old goofing around, all this while they are cutting me up lol. Once the baby has arrived he or she will be tended by the pediatrician, cleaned and weighed. You will be able to see the baby but not hold him or her right away until the operation is done. The anesthetics will ware off about 2-3 hours later.

You are first given an epidural or block to numb you so you wont feel a thing. You either have that before or after they wheel you to the O.R. They put a drape over you so you can't see whats happenng at the other end. (They asked me if I wanted to watch, of course I said no) Also your arms are out to the side, but don't worry, it doesnt take long. 20 minutes or so. They swab your belly, usually above your pubic area and test to make sure you don't actually feel anything. Then the doctor makes some cuts, and voila! baby is here! They clean baby and give a little exam, then let you have a few moments together then they take the baby to the nursery for tests while you are stitched up and sent to a recovery room. It isn't really all that bad having one, in my opinion.

An incision is made, usually a horizontal line in the lower part of your belly. Then the doctor will separate some muscle tissue, and then make a small incision in your uterus. That incision is then extended using scissors. The baby is extracted, after about 10-15 minutes into the operation. The remaining 30-45 minutes will be the doctor suturing the layers back together.

Well I had a bad experience but here's the run down:
You get ready, get in a gown, etc.
You are wheeled (or walk) into the operating room
You get your epidural/spinal whatever they plan on
You get tied to a bed that is pretty similar to the one prisioners are executed on.
They poke you to make sure that you are numb (if you have my doctor they just keep going even when you aren't....)
They cut you open.. It feels like hot burning hell.. or maybe not for you.
Lots of pushing and pulling
They clean you up, slap a big sticker on your stomach and then wheel you into recovery
You spend about 3-5 days in the hospital in terrible agony, go home and spend another 2 weeks in terrible agony... then you start to feel the way I did about 2 hours after a vaginal delivery.

A C- section,Ceasarian section, is to deliver the baby through a surgical opening of the lower abdomen.
The doctor will make an incision to open the uterus and deliver the baby.
