Hi Everybody,

Throat trouble can be dealt in several ways.
1) Naturally gargle with lukewarm water and you can add a pinch of salt to it. Some persons find a tablet of aspirin or disprin as good. But remember that it is an OTC drug in India and some persons might have allergy to it.

2) Use lukewarm water for drinking and not fresh or cold water.

3) Add a pinch of dry powder of ginger, black pepper and long pepper each in a teaspoon of honey and take it three times a day after meals. It will surely help in all chronic throat troubles.

If your glands are swollen , this is usually a good sign that you have an infection... Echinacea is a good anti-biotic herb,,It has antibiotic properties and if you take it with Golden seal, it will work better but do not take Golden Seal for more than a week.. follow instructions on Bottle...

Also, Chamomile or peppermint tea are good for the throat...Drink warm.. it works better that way..

Take extra zinc during winter month to stave off viruses in the air...
Hope this helps....:)

Hi!
In addition to whatever you might choose from the above,
try to get some rest. An afternoon nap would not hurt.
Just staying under the covers in a constant warmth is good.
Don't try to make it through your whole day without rest if
you are ill. Your body needs to repair itself. You only have
one. You will be sorry later on in life is you do not take care
of yourself. When you are young it seems like a forever thing,
but illness can compound itself - i.e. you can sufffer from two or three illnesses at once - and that is not fun. And, remember, when you are older, you do not bounce back from illness
as easily as when you are young.. So, while you have the chance, take it!

This remedy will help a sore throat.
Gargle with salt water. Viruses, which cause colds, can't survive in a high-salt environment.

3 teaspoons of table salt to one cup of warm water, Stir and gargle with a full one-cup mixture at least 2-3 times daily.

Also- hot and cold therapy may help with the swelling. Drink a hot liquid, like an herbal tea. Wait awhile then drink cold water.
This hot and cold rushes the blood in and out to help your body fight off the bad guys.

Whenever my throat is bothering me, I make a tea of linden flowers. I usually just get the tea bags (you can find it in the Latin foods section of the grocery or at CVS in the Spanish remedies section if your store has one) and put two bags in per mug. It has to be left to brew for about ten minutes or so. It works wonderfully for me when I have a frog in my throat and have to do my newscasts.
