I have recently made the decision to shave my pubic hair. Its great but I have some problems. Shaving just isn't doing the job well enough. I didn't use a cheap razor either. I shave with the grain but just do not get close enough and have irritating stubble.

Ok now for my actual question. I see that people have used Veet. I want to try this but heard that it can really bother the sensitive area. I also heard that if you leave it on too long its possible to get chemical burns! I don't think I will go with waxing, and I really want to try a cream. What is the best cream to use for my pubic hair, is it safe, and about how long will it last?

yes, I'm a guy. Is that weird if I use a cream? I can shave but I want it to be the best possible.

To the registered nurse.--Ok, thanks for the info. Am I screwed now? If I don't continue to shave I will end up with ingrown hairs which will suck. I'll also have to suffer about three weeks with extremely annoying short hairs that itch until the hair is long enough to not be pointy. What should I do? I have no problem with my pubic hair just being shorter. It doesn't have to be shaven. I just can't stand the stubble and short pointy hairs rubbbing against my genitals.

hey, thedarkbristow. Would you mind telling me exactly what shaver you have. I appreciate anything that can appropriately take care of this situation

well maybe I will try letting it grow back but how will I go about preventing ingrown hairs? They sound like they will suck real bad considering I know what an ingrown toe nail feels like.

Registered Nurse here; Dear Mark, would just like to share with you that removing pubic hair is strongly discouraged these days. The reason being, is our nation is being swept with a resistant form of Staphylococcus Aurea's. It's been named MRSA (methecillen resistant staphylococcus Aurea's). The reason it is being discouraged is removing hair anywhere decreases the skins natural immunity to ward off unwanted bacteria. Therefore physician's are strongly discouraging hair removal from genitals, for this is one of the primary outbreaks, it begins with an irritated hair follicular, or in grown hair. The only treatment is surgical, meaning the abscess that forms has to be Incised and drained for the antibiotics we have now does not penetrate the infections bacterial cell. Please don't think I'm being judgmental, certainly not the case. Just wanted to give up the thumbs up on removing hair from the genital area and why. Instead of removing hair, physicians are recommending trimming and cutting the pubic hair back.
Thanks for the opportunity to address your question.

I absolutely agree with you on the decision to get rid of all that hair "down there". I'm 26 and I started keeping the lawn trimmed and mowed when I was about 19. I started using a razor as you did at first but then found that the irritation and itching was not working for me. I also found myself receiving some, should I say, unwanted cuts in some very sensitive areas. On to your question.. I would not suggest using any sort of chemicals, oils, or creams. We all know exactly how sensitive some of our "parts" can be and to honest, I wouldn't want to be applying some unknown ointments on my parts. Plus it just seems too messy man! I went out and bought myself an electric hair trimmer. Not the kind guys use to trim beards and sideburns or shave with. I bought the kind barbers use to cut hair. This thing has been SO friggin helpful. It's fast, easy, and no irritation! I've used the same trimmer for like 6 years now. This is definitely worth a shot man. They cost about $20 to $35 and can be found at like wal mart or something and they last forever. Sorry about the novel.. I just really know what I'm talking about on this one. Good luck.

Don't use depilatory hair removers on sensitive organs!

Have you looked at the Seiko Cleancut shaver and Shavy trimmer? The shavy is toothbrushed shaped and really easy to manoevure around the testicles.

The Cleancut can only be used on stubble length hair, but will leave you with baby smooth skin. Best of all this shaver does not cut, nick or burn and you will have no post hair removal irritations.

don't use creams, They burn and irritate. don't use razors either. They nick and scrape and irritate also.

go buy a quality BRAUN electric shaver and start by TRIMMING the hairs with the moustache trimmer. If that is short enough - let it be. If not - then shave very LIGHTLY & GENTLY. Splash with plenty of WITCH HAZEL afterwards to soothe and calm the skin. And don't shave more often than you really need to. this could be once weekly or once bi-weekly.

You will be fine if you obey my directives. All the best!!!

ok well you can try nair hair removal it works good but i dont like the smell its really strong and if you try it make shure its been a few days before you have shaved cause if you have any shave bumps or rashes from shaving it will burn and cause skin irritation, but make sure you follow the directions on the bottle when it says wipe off easly instead of wash off with soap. but after you wipe it off wait a little while then you can wash off and the soap wont burn. but other than that it shouldnt burn, but dont get it on your head bf did it and burned so he said. ok and i think that a guy shaving is cool no hairs in ur mouth. and the sweat thing you sweat less least my bf does. but i shave also and have sence i was 16 and i like it i like not having hair and i feel alot cleaner not having hair but its what you prefer.

Like the nurse above, I would stronly discourage you from getting rid of pubic hair. Shaving leaves you looking freaky and causes bumps, zits, and rashes in most men. Trimmed is prickly and uncomfortable. A natural bush is much more hygienic, as it allows for air circulation, so you stink less as well as being less likely to get a serious skin disease

Just let it grow, and in a couple of weeks it will be looking manly again.
